ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

  • $20-$25 hourly pay range
  • Repair and replace worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps.
  • Repair or adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings.
  • Test equipment for refrigerant leak, charging, and metering device issues.
  • Remove and install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.
  • Adjust expansion valves and add gas to refrigeration units.
  • Check gauges and perform preventive maintenance work.
  • Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units; diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
  • Accurately document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, necessary test measurements, and take pictures as necessary.
  • Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer's recommendations; clearly & professionally communicate to Chief Engineer the current issues and explain what is necessary to correct them.
  • Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
  • Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.
  • Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor various electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.
  • Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log to notify the next shift.
  • Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
  • Handle operation of the boiler and chiller and maintaining temperatures throughout the building.
  • Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Experience required by position is from one to two years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
  • Skills and Abilities: Must have either EPA Certification type 1 and type 2 or Universal EPA. Requires working knowledge of Housekeeping and the hotel's services, policies and operations. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
