Field Technician (Journey/Mid Level) (Power Generation/Diesel/Electrical) (Relocation Assistance) (Sign-on Bonus)
Field Technician – Power Generation / Diesel / Electrical
Location: Kent, WA
Compensation: $35 – $57/hr (Based on Experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $10,000
Relocation Assistance: Available
Schedule: Full-Time | Overtime, Nights & Weekends as Needed
Travel: Regular travel to customer sites throughout the Seattle Metro Area
Power Up Essential Industries
We\’re looking for a seasoned Field Technician with a strong background in power generation, diesel engines, and electrical systems to keep critical infrastructure running in the Pacific Northwest. You\’ll be hands-on in the field supporting industries where uptime is everything-from hospitals and defense to data centers and emergency response. If you\’re mechanically sharp, electrically confident, and love solving problems under pressure, this is your next move.
What You\’ll Do
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel and gaseous generators
- Troubleshoot AC/DC systems (110V – 600V), transfer switches, switchgear, and engine controls
- Conduct load bank and battery testing to ensure optimal system performance
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify electrical and mechanical faults
- Maintain service documentation and uphold safety procedures
- Travel to customer sites and support emergency power needs as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in power generation, diesel systems, or electrical troubleshooting
- Proficiency with AC/DC electrical systems, generator repairs, and transfer switches
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a field service role
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Valid driver\’s license and insurable under company policy
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied conditions (indoor/outdoor)
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call based on business needs
Desired / Preferred Skills & Education
- Certificate or degree in Diesel Technology, Electrical Systems, or Power Generation
- Graduates from UTI, Wyotech, Lincoln Tech, AVTEC, or Northwest Lineman College encouraged to apply
- Experience with generator control panels (e.g., Deep Sea, Woodward), switchgear, or PLC systems
- Industry certifications such as EGSA, ASE, or NCCER
- Familiarity with critical backup power environments or military applications
