Salary: £895.88 per week (approximately £23.89 per hour). You will be a key member of the engineering team, responsible for maintaining and repairing the bodywork of Stagecoach’s fleet of buses, which includes modern double‑deckers, single‑deckers and electric vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Repair and replace bus bodywork components such as framework, panels, ramps, doors, upholstery and perform welding and painting work.
- Work on a variety of vehicle types, including new electric buses, with full training provided.
- Collaborate with a cross‑functional team that includes electricians, mechanics, technicians, storespeople, administrators and engineering managers.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks to keep vehicles in optimal operating condition.
- Support operational goals by ensuring buses are ready for daily service.
Qualifications
- Experience in an engineering role involving large vehicles (truck, haulage, automotive, plant, rail, farm, etc.).
- Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn bus‑specific skills.
- Team‑player with strong communication skills.
- Safe driving record and a valid driving licence are preferred.
