Role Overview
Based at our London headquarters, the Crisis Communications Manager will be an integral part of the crisis communications team, managing initial responses and manning the incident line on evenings and weekends. The role includes coordinating emergency response drills using our in‑house media and social media simulation platform, Triton, and providing high‑quality media response training to our clients at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Manage initial crisis responses and operate incident line during evenings and weekends.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and exercise planning with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide client liaison, internal and external communications advice and support.
- Produce copywriting, manage media assets, and monitor social media.
- Engage in business development activities and support growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Excellent writing skills.
- Confident and polished public speaker.
- Knowledge of commercial shipping and/or crisis communications experience.
- Experience delivering senior‑level media (or other relevant) training programs.
- Willing and able to travel internationally, sometimes on short notice.
- Highly organized with common sense and the ability to “muck‑in” and get the job done.
- Ability to work well under intense pressure and show initiative during slow periods.
- Experience with social media management and monitoring is a significant asset.
- Business development experience is an asset.
