Associate Research Analyst – Emerging Market Debt

Based in London, England, you will support corporate bond investment decisions within Columbia Threadneedle’s Emerging Market Debt team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth sector and security analysis.
  • Analyze and integrate industry trends into actionable recommendations, gathering relevant data as appropriate.
  • Identify and develop data management tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the investment process.
  • Contribute to team discussions focused on investment performance and process.
  • Collaborate closely with EM sovereign analysts to frame corporate recommendations in country context.
  • Contribute to larger firm conversations about investments, working with other fixed income and asset classes.
  • Interact with issuers and dealers, attending meetings and conferences as needed.
  • Appropriately monitor existing holdings for performance.
  • Help manage independent and group research projects.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree.
  • Passion for Emerging Market Debt and the investment management industry.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and dedication to being part of a successful team.
  • Ability to use a mix of quantitative and qualitative data to arrive at conclusions and make portfolio recommendations.
  • Communication and relationship‑building skills to appropriately influence and share ideas with others.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to scrub and query data from database systems using SQL.
  • Experience with any of: Python, SQL, AWS.
