About 501 Entertainment Limited (“501”): Founded in 2018, 501 is the global leader in social entertainment systems, dedicated to bringing innovative and engaging solutions to the market. As a pioneering tech company, we specialise in transforming traditional activities (such as darts, golf and more), into digitally enhanced, competitive socialising experiences.
Purpose of the Role: We are looking to hire a Compliance Manager to oversee and strengthen compliance, risk management, and internal controls across 501 Entertainment Ltd (“501”). This role sits at the intersection of Legal, Supply Chain, Operations, and Product, with responsibility for ensuring the business operates in line with all applicable global legal, regulatory, and internal requirements. The successful candidate will translate regulatory obligations into practical operational processes, while also developing and maintaining a robust compliance framework, supporting internal audits, identifying risks, and ensuring the business is audit-ready as it scales. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role suited to someone who can build frameworks, not just follow them, and who is comfortable challenging processes and stakeholders where needed. We are looking for a detail-oriented but pragmatic compliance specialist, who feels comfortable operating in an ambiguous setting, scaling the function as we grow.
Core Responsibilities:
- Product and regulatory compliance: Own and coordinate go-to-market compliance for hardware and related products across relevant jurisdictions. Manage documentation relating to CE, UKCA and other applicable conformity requirements across the world from start to finish. Review product labelling, warnings, instructions, traceability information, and technical documentation for completeness and consistency. Lead on declarations of conformity and other compliance documents from start to finish. Driving compliance by working with internal teams and external testing/certification partners to track product compliance requirements and approvals. Monitor changes in applicable product, safety and environmental regulations and assess impact on the business.
- Environmental and producer responsibility compliance: Own compliance activities relating to waste management, packaging and other applicable obligations on a global scale. Maintain records and reporting required for registrations, declarations and filings. Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain compliance evidence and product data.
- Supply chain, warehouse and customs compliance: Identify and resolve operational compliance issues affecting product movement or market access. Ensure compliance processes are embedded into day-to-day operational workflows.
- Risk, audit and governance: Work together with the Heads of Departments to develop and maintain a practical, business-focused compliance and risk framework. Create and manage a central risk register, focusing on areas that could have financial, operational, or reputational impact. Conduct regular internal audits of key business processes, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and commercial impact. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in how data and processes are handled, and implement improvements.
- Business-wide compliance: Work with Legal to interpret regulatory changes and embed them into business operations. Assist on compliance related issues and record-keeping where appropriate.
- Record-keeping, reporting and controls: Own and maintain structured compliance records, registers, and document repositories. Produce regular compliance reports, dashboards, and action trackers for senior stakeholders. Develop, implement, and continuously improve compliance procedures, checklists, and internal controls. Ensure all documentation is organised, current, accessible, and audit-ready.
Essential experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in a compliance, regulatory, risk, or similar operational role.
- Experience working with physical products, hardware, consumer products, electronics, or other regulated goods.
- Experience building or improving compliance frameworks, processes, or internal controls.

- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and documentation management.
- Ability to apply pragmatic, commercially-minded judgement when implementing compliance controls.
- Confidence to challenge processes and stakeholders to ensure compliance standards are met.
- Ability to balance commercial priorities with regulatory risk.
