Following a series of major business wins and surging demand within the world of elite racing, we are seeking a visionary Editorial Director to join our growing team. This isn’t just a content role; we are looking for a specialist with a genuine, deep‑seated passion for Formula 1. You understand that F1 is as much about the technical precision and political drama as it is about the wheel‑to‑wheel action.
About you:
- Significant agency or similar experience
- A deep passion for and expert knowledge of Formula 1, including an understanding of the technical, cultural, and commercial nuances of the sport.
- Proven line management, nurturing and leadership skills
- Sports experience and a strong understanding of the Sports Business
- Experience being the master of the editorial process from conception to completion
- Motivated by collaboration and able to communicate effectively with all clients and all agency disciplines
- A proactive, positive can‑do approach and able to direct and motivate the wider team
- Champions the agency's editorial services and connects these with our clients’ needs
- Acts on initiative and experience, within a fast‑paced creative environment

Please note that this is a full‑time position (40 hours per week), but given the nature of what we do (reporting live from sports events) this is not your typical 9‑5, and your working pattern will vary from week to week, and will include some weekend commitments.
Job responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Head of Editorial, contribute to the development of the Editorial function of 50 Sport, implementing the standards and tone for all internal, external and client output
- Act as editorial lead for 50 Sport’s key motorsport clients, driving the social media and content output, standards and results for the client
- Take responsibility for all content plans for your clients, prompting new thinking within the team via regular suggestions / prompts for improvement
- Lead and be responsible for external and internal editorial output for your clients (client presentations, creative briefs, insights reports, quarterly business reviews)
- Lead on live social activation and content capture across specified clients ensuring the right team setup and resources are in place
- Lead editorial and content strategies for your clients
- Take ownership of the editorial responses to new business pitches
- Line management of one or more individuals providing mentorship and career development
- Partner with Client Services team peers to develop client relationships built on trust, open dialogue and mutual respect
- Help build stronger relationships with all media platforms, gaining access to roadmaps, pre‑launch features and ensuring 50 Sport continues its preferred partner status
- Understand and assess editorial upsell opportunities in tandem with client services
- Work with the broader Editorial Team to further develop our service offering
