Due to a number of recent business wins and existing client demand, we are looking to bolster our growing production team with a DOP/Shooting Editor.
About the role
As a DOP/Shooting Editor at 50 Sport, you will be responsible for both capturing and editing high-quality footage for an array of high-profile clients. You will bring your expertise in cinematography and editing to create visually compelling content that tells powerful stories, all while working across a diverse range of exciting sports campaigns. This role demands creativity, technical skill, and a passion for sports storytelling. The role will involve extensive travel to international events, sometimes requiring unsociable hours and flexibility to meet the demands of live sports production. Your work will contribute to projects for some of the biggest sports teams, brands, and rights holders globally.
Job requirements
- Proven experience as a DOP and video editor, with a strong portfolio that includes high-quality sports content.
- Expertise with camera equipment, lighting, and on-location filming, including handling live sports and fast-moving shots.
- Advanced proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Blender. Good experience in colour grading, sound design, and VFX.
- Familiarity with social media formats and the ability to create content optimised for digital and social platforms.
- Strong creative and technical vision, with the ability to adapt to various styles and formats depending on the project.
- The ability to work under high pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team, as well as experience liaising with clients and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work long, irregular hours, especially around major sporting events.
- Experience with multi-camera setups, drone cinematography, or live-event production is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities
- Filming: Operate as Director of Photography (DOP) on location, filming dynamic sports action, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and branded videos that capture the essence of each project.
- Editing: Edit footage into polished, engaging content for multiple platforms, including social media, digital campaigns, TV spots, and more. You should be comfortable with fast-paced editing and quick turnaround times, while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with producers, directors, and other creatives to understand client briefs and deliver exceptional visual content that aligns with both the creative vision and technical requirements.
- Travel & Flexibility: This role involves significant travel for shoots and live event coverage, sometimes with tight schedules and after-hours work, particularly around major sports events.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their brand vision and help bring that to life through both your shooting and editing work. Provide input and creative suggestions to meet client goals and deadlines.
