Job purpose:
- Uphold standards of practice for Occupational Therapists as determined by the regulatory body, the Health and Care Professions Council, and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments, plan support/services to help clients meet their outcomes and live independently.
- Support carers in their roles.
- Provide supervision and support to Occupational Therapists and Customer Coordinators within the same locality.
- Deliver services in accordance with social care and housing legislation.
- Ensure safeguarding adults is carried out per law and policies.
Supervision and/or Management of People:
No full team management but monitor quality and quantity of others\’ work, providing guidance and support.
Qualifications include a degree or equivalent experience, ITQ 2 or similar ICT skills, and relevant professional qualifications.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Post-qualification experience in a similar environment.
- Expertise in relevant policies, legislation, and guidelines.
- Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft applications.
- Experience with multidisciplinary collaboration, assessment, and investigation.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of financial assessment processes.
Creativity and Innovation:
- Apply professional knowledge to interpret policies, resolve issues, and improve service quality.
- Manage complex caseloads within policies and procedures.
- Research and develop services, prepare reports, and represent the service legally as needed.
Contacts and Relationships:
- Engage with colleagues, partners, clients, and external agencies.
- Negotiate and make decisions tactfully.
- Support parents and carers with development issues.
Support and assist wellbeing, safeguarding, and community care:
- Involves immediate response and ongoing assessment.
Person Specification:
- Qualified in Occupational Therapy, registered with HCPC.
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience, with a background in adult care.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and adaptations.
- Experience supervising staff, offering training, and working in social care and reablement settings.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Fluent in English and passionate about high-quality, customer-centric services.
