About the job

Main Purpose of Job

To work with the Senior Associate [Learning Services] to deliver a learning and development service, including the Social Care Wales Workforce Development Programme [SCWWDP]. To work as part of the Learner Service Team, collaborating across learning and development to support the delivery of programme management, underpinned by the Health and Social Care Workforce Strategy themes.

Key responsibilities

  • To assist in the delivery of learning and development interventions for the organisation and SCWWDP partners, supporting business outcomes and focused solutions.
  • To provide front line learner support to employees and external partners ensuring course bookings are managed and queries resolved within agreed timescales.
  • To be responsible for coordinating designated courses, liaising with facilitators, scheduling events, preparing joining instructions, and course resources to ensure the smooth running of learning and development activities.
  • To liaise closely with Senior Leads and Advisors and carry out arrangements for planning the delivery of learner programmes including webinars, classroom, and hybrid learning to promote a quality service for organisational and SCWWDP events.
  • To use and accurately maintain systems eg ResourceLink and other learning management systems to produce accurate records, registers and evaluations of learner participation and reporting of activity.
  • To work with the Learner Services Associate [Digital Learning & Engagement] to ensure courses are published on the Intranet and other systems in a timely way.
  • To work with the Learner Services Associate [Finance] to carry out financial activities in accordance with the Councils Financial Procedure Rules.
  • To support wider Learner Services activities to cooperatively deliver a quality learning and development service.
  • To contribute to the development of the Learner Experience Platform & Learning Management System [LXP/LMS] and develop new skills and expertise to maintain a dynamic learning environment and transition business processes.
  • Contribute to wider People Management initiatives to deliver agreed priorities, within the scope of the post and in line with Business Plan objectives.

Responsible for staff/equipment

  • Responsible for monitoring the distribution, return, storage and recording of Council laptops [approx. 60+] for Social Work student placements.
  • Responsible for learning and development library resources / publications.

Reporting to

Senior Associate [Learner Services]

Qualifications, Vocational training and Professional Memberships

  • Recognised Business Qualification [or equivalent experience] at Certificate Level 2 / 3 [or prepared to work towards].
  • Evidence of continuous personal development.

  • Excellent organisational skills, including managing time / workload, shifts in priorities to achieve agreed deliverables within time and resource constraints.
  • Excellent team working skills including reliability, adaptability, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with a wide range of internal and external customers, to respond, verify and resolve a range of enquiries to aid service delivery.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of learning management systems and their application within the workplace.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Actively stays up to date with organisational guidelines and processes.

Experience

  • Experience of customer service/support.
  • Experience of maintaining computer records and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to help other people learn to use resources.
  • Commitment to a learner focussed approach, understanding needs, and helping where possible.
  • Ability to act responsibly with confidential records.
  • Proactive in responding to issues professionally, flexibly, and appropriately as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of web authoring and web development software.
