About the job

To provide business support to the Education Safeguarding Service in order to meet statutory obligations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide business support to the Education Safeguarding Officers in creating and maintaining child employment permits and child performance licences, including the upkeep of EMS and ensuring all documents are saved to a secure drive.
  • Provide support to the Chaperone Application process, which includes the distribution of guidelines, ensuring requests for references are sent/received, ensuring the applicant has passed all processes before a licence is issued, and general assistance in the administration of training days.
  • Collate information from EMS regarding children and families referred to DV MARAC.
  • Assist the Education Safeguarding Officer in contacting schools in relation to the above.
  • Maintain the Access database of all staff trained.
  • Provide minute taking support at meetings as required.
  • Assist in updating and monitoring of Child Protection/Safeguarding databases.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Education Safeguarding Officers.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Experience of operating a variety of computer packages, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience of supporting meetings.
  • Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Experience of maintaining database systems.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge of Child Employment legislation, licensing and work permits.

Skills and Abilities

  • Accurate word processing/typing speed of 35 wpm.
  • Ability to demonstrate accurate data processing skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with the wide variety of people who engage with the Safeguarding and Reviewing Service.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
