We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Payroll Manager to join our team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, supporting accurate payroll delivery.

What You Will Do
  • Manage end‑to‑end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full statutory compliance.
  • Partner with Finance on payroll audits, labour cost reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Implement and maintain strong payroll controls, governance, and HMRC‑compliant processes.
  • Perform manual payroll checks to validate system outputs and support audit requirements.
  • Monitor legislative changes and best practices, advising leaders on required updates.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure timely communication and processing of payroll changes.
  • Resolve employee payroll queries and produce required reports for leadership, HMRC, and pension providers.
  • Analyse labour costs, provide strategic payroll insights, and maintain dashboards for senior decision‑making.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including renewals, provider relationships, enrolments, and accurate payroll integration.

Monday‑ Friday 9am – 6pm

What are we looking for?
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in managing complex payroll operations across multiple entities.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, and benefits compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency in payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Experience with payroll processing software and systems (Dayforce highly desirable).
  • Payroll certification (e.g., CIPP, or other relevant qualifications) is preferred.
