We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Payroll Manager to join our team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, supporting accurate payroll delivery.
What You Will Do- Manage end‑to‑end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full statutory compliance.
- Partner with Finance on payroll audits, labour cost reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Implement and maintain strong payroll controls, governance, and HMRC‑compliant processes.
- Perform manual payroll checks to validate system outputs and support audit requirements.
- Monitor legislative changes and best practices, advising leaders on required updates.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure timely communication and processing of payroll changes.
- Resolve employee payroll queries and produce required reports for leadership, HMRC, and pension providers.
- Analyse labour costs, provide strategic payroll insights, and maintain dashboards for senior decision‑making.
- Oversee benefits administration, including renewals, provider relationships, enrolments, and accurate payroll integration.

What are we looking for?- Proven experience (5+ years) in managing complex payroll operations across multiple entities.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, and benefits compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
- Experience with payroll processing software and systems (Dayforce highly desirable).
- Payroll certification (e.g., CIPP, or other relevant qualifications) is preferred.
