Over the years, our portfolio has expanded to include the beloved Birley Bakery & Chocolate Shops in Chelsea and, most recently, our first international ventures — Maxime’s Club and Birley Bakery in New York City. Other group businesses include Birley Sandwiches, comprising 9 stores across the City and Canary Wharf. In Summer 2027, we will unveil The Carrington, a business club located in Mayfair.

With the business growing at pace, this is an exciting time to join the company. Due to an internal promotion, we are now seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our Group Finance team, working in collaboration with senior finance leadership and based at our Corporate Office in Mayfair.

Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering: Support and challenge stakeholders with data‑driven insights to execute business strategy, while partnering closely with UK Clubs and Retail leadership to manage and optimise the operating cost base, protect margins and support delivery of the group’s financial plan.
  • Financial & Management Reporting: Manage the delivery of daily, weekly and monthly financial and KPI reporting for assigned areas, with a primary focus on UK Clubs and Retail cost base performance. Monitor financial and non‑financial performance against targets, delivering variance, trend and benchmark analysis.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning: Drive the annual budgeting process for allocated areas, centred on OPEX and CAPEX planning for UK Clubs and Retail.
  • Financial control, Governance & Compliance: Support the Group Financial Controller and divisional leaders in maintaining strong financial controls, governance and compliance, while contributing to group‑wide activities such as intercompany recharges, consistent financial processes and the uniform presentation of financial information across divisions.
  • Systems, Insights & continuous improvements: Promote consistency and standardisation of financial reporting, templates and processes across Clubs, Retail and Group functions.

Experience and qualities

Essential:

  • ACCA or CIMA qualified (>3 years) with strong technical accounting experience
  • Experience building and maintaining robust financial models.
  • Commercially astute
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative, stakeholder relationships and influence decisions.
  • High attention to detail, and well organised
  • Proactive, delivery focused and team-oriented approach.
  • Strong/Advanced Excel skills & PowerPoint presentation skills

Desirable:

  • From a “Big 4” and/or Audit background
  • Industry experience in Leisure & Hospitality or Subscription based businesses.
  • Project accounting experience and/or working with start-ups.
  • Worked with SME focused, cloud based, accounting software – like NetSuite or similar.
  • Worked with Salesforce or other similar CRM platforms.
  • Experience in a company with a diverse portfolio of business.
  • Experience with working in a fast-paced, agile working environment for a company with ambitious growth plans.
