About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Employment Engagement Officer to join our team and contribute to the success of our education programs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, have a strong understanding of the labour market, and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills with proven skills and track record to meet project targets. To identify vacancies and seek employment opportunities in sector jobs and to upskill existing employees with the view to progressing them into better pay jobs in small businesses and SMEs with better remuneration. As an Employment Engagement Officer, you will play a crucial role in connecting our students with meaningful employment opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Outreach and Networking Responsibilities: Building and maintaining strong relationships with employers in the ICT sector and related industries.
- Employer Engagement: Organizing employer workshops, presentations, and networking events to foster partnerships and promote learner employability.
- Job Placement: Actively matching students with suitable job opportunities and facilitating the application and interview process with a view to getting them into employment or apprenticeships.
- Data Management: Tracking student job placements, work experience, and employment outcomes to meet project targets.
- Program Development: Contributing to the development and implementation of new employment initiatives and programs.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in education, human resources, or a related field is desirable.
- Strong understanding of the ICT sector and associated labour market trends (LMI).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employers and other stakeholders.
- Proven track record of placing unemployed learners into employment, self-employment, work experience, work placements, and apprenticeships.
- Progressing employed customers into full-time jobs or better-paid jobs through internal promotion and/or career progression.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
