We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Poultry Manager to oversee the daily operations of a brand-new 39,000-bird free-range laying unit.
This purpose-built enterprise is equipped with the latest technology, including a Valli housing system and a new Prinzen egg packing installation within a central packing facility.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring exceptional bird welfare, maintaining high production standards, and managing the efficient operation of equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily care and management of the free-range flock, ensuring the highest standards of bird welfare, health, and performance.
- Monitor and maintain housing systems, equipment, and farm infrastructure to ensure efficient operation.
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs to farm machinery and mechanical systems.
- Maintain accurate records relating to flock health, production performance, feed usage, and environmental conditions.
- Assist with general farm maintenance, including buildings, equipment, and site upkeep.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and assurance scheme requirements.
- Work proactively to identify and implement improvements that enhance flock performance and operational efficiency.
- Candidate Requirements
- Previous poultry management experience, preferably within a commercial laying or free-range system.
- A sound understanding of poultry husbandry, flock health, and animal welfare.
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to undertake routine maintenance and basic repairs.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for daily decision-making.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a wider farm team.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards across all aspects of the enterprise.
