We’re seeking an experienced Rigging Inspector & Prep Lead to take ownership of the preparation, inspection, and compliance of all rigging and lifting equipment across our UK operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for someone with strong technical expertise in rigging and lifting gear, who is passionate about mentoring a team and driving the highest standards of safety, reliability, and project readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Rigging Prep Team, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Prep, inspect, and maintain rigging, motors, hoists, truss, chains, slings and shackles.
- Manage LOLER inspections, keeping audit‑ready records.
- Oversee equipment allocation, stock organisation, and warehouse operations.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and ensure all equipment meets operational safety standards.
- Promote a clean, safe, and sustainable workspace while supporting wider warehouse activities.
About you
- Proven experience in theatrical rigging and lifting equipment, including electric motors.
- LEAA qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Experience leading, motivating and mentoring a small team.
- Knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and inspection compliance.
- Clear written and spoken English for record keeping and communication.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 25kg and working in an active warehouse environment.
- Positive, organised and team‑focused with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to Blackburn initially, before relocation to Hertford.
Initially, the role will require travel to our Blackburn site while our warehouse relocation is underway. From summer onwards, the position will be based in Hertford. All travel costs associated with this transition will be covered by the company.
