We’re a global video and lighting service provider delivering world class solutions for exhibitions, concerts, touring, conferences, theatre, TV, film and retail. We’re seeking a Rigging Prep Lead to join our UK warehouse team and take responsibility for the leadership, organisation, and technical management of the rigging prep function. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership to ensure all rigging and lifting equipment is prepared, maintained, and compliant to the highest standards.

The Rigging Prep Lead is responsible for leading the day to day operations of the rigging department, ensuring equipment is safe, compliant and ready for use across live event projects, while supporting and developing the team and maintaining operational efficiency. The role will initially involve travel to our Blackburn premises, as our warehouse is relocating. From the end of June onwards the role will be based in Hertford. Travel costs associated with this transition will be covered by the company.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, supervise and support the Rigging Prep Team, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Prepare, inspect, test and allocate rigging and lifting equipment for jobs in line with operational schedules.
  • Pull, collate, scan and process equipment using the asset management system.
  • Check in returned equipment, ensuring accurate inventory records and system updates.
  • Carry out cleaning, maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of motors and rigging equipment.
  • Support inspection processes and ensure compliance with LOLER and internal safety standards.
  • Coordinate priorities with Warehouse Management and wider operational teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of processes, equipment reliability and team performance.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in theatrical rigging and lifting equipment, including electric motors.
  • Previous experience in theatrical rigging and motorised lifting systems is essential.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team in a technical environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rigging equipment, motors, and associated systems.
  • Good fault-finding, troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety and compliance standards, including LOLER.
  • Good manual dexterity and a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with safety-critical equipment.
  • Comfortable using computer systems and asset management software.
  • Positive, organised and team focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Positive, team-oriented leadership style with the ability to motivate others.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Blackburn initially prior to relocation to Hertford.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 25kg and working in an active warehouse environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled rigging professional to take a leadership role within a fast-paced live events environment, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of rigging equipment across all projects. If you’re looking for your next challenge and bring the skills and experience required, we’d love to hear from you.
