Junior Hardware Engineer – Hook
We’re looking for a Junior Hardware Engineer to join a hands-on engineering team in the Hook area.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in computer hardware who is looking to build a career in a technical environment. You do not need extensive commercial experience — if you enjoy building PCs, repairing hardware, upgrading components, or learning how systems work, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be joining a workshop-based team, supporting with the testing, troubleshooting, repair and refurbishment of hardware systems.
What you’ll be doing
- Testing hardware components to ensure performance and quality standards are met
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware faults
- Replacing components such as CPUs, memory, disks and other core parts
- Provisioning and configuring replacement hardware
- Refurbishing returned systems for reuse
- Carrying out disk wiping / data wiping in line with security procedures
- Completing cleaning, screening and functionality checks on refurbished equipment
- Updating records and maintaining accurate test history / activity logs
- Supporting basic stock control and inventory updates
- Working to workshop processes and quality standards
What we’re looking for
- A strong interest in computer hardware, PC builds, repairs or gaming setups
- Someone keen to learn and develop in a technical, hands-on role
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Basic understanding of components such as RAM, CPUs, hard drives / SSDs
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Able to accurately document work carried out
- A full clean driving licence and own transport would be highly advantageous
