Overview: We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Client's commercial team based in Chelmsford, Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within a dynamic and supportive environment, working on projects with leading Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors on a range of high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the commercial team with the management of project costs, valuations, and reporting
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of tender documentation
  • Monitor project progress and help manage subcontractor accounts
  • Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
  • Help with the procurement of subcontractors and materials
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and commercial best practices

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Previous experience with a Main construction or Sub Contractor is preferred
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and eager to develop professionally
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software (e.g. Excel, project cost systems)
