Salary: £55,000 - £59,000 + £4,000 London weighting (principal residents within London boroughs) if applicable

Are you an experienced Building Safety professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a Building Safety Case Team Leader to provide technical and operational leadership within our growing Building Safety Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the delivery of Building Safety Case Reports (BSCRs), Building Safety Assessments and specialist consultancy services across Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs) and complex residential developments. You will lead a team of Building Safety Consultants, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, compliant and commercially successful projects while supporting the ongoing development of our Building Safety service.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, Technical Standards & Risk Manager, Project Managers and Technical Consultants, you will help shape best practice, maintain technical excellence and ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated legislation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and mentor the Building Safety Team, providing technical guidance and ensuring consistent standards across all projects.
  • Oversee the delivery and quality assurance of Building Safety Case Reports, Building Safety Assessments and related consultancy services.
  • Undertake complex Building Safety inspections across Higher-Risk Buildings and residential developments.
  • Provide expert advice on the Building Safety Act 2022, fire safety, structural safety and associated legislation.
  • Support clients, including Principal Accountable Persons, Accountable Persons and Managing Agents, in meeting their Building Safety obligations.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers to manage workloads, resources and project programmes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the development of procedures, technical guidance and best practice.
  • Support the professional development, recruitment and competency of Building Safety Consultants.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements and management systems, including ISO 9001.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives and promote innovation across the Building Safety function.

About you:

  • Qualified to Level 5/6 safety-related qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
  • Level 4 or higher Fire Risk Management qualification.
  • Building Safety Manager qualification.
  • Significant experience within Building Safety, fire safety, building control, structural engineering or a related discipline.
  • A strong understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated legislation and guidance.
  • Experience producing and reviewing Building Safety Case Reports.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting to clients.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable).
  • A willingness to travel as required, including occasional overnight stays.
