Hourly Rate: 13.26 - 16.70 per hour
Information about the Role:
- 37 hours per week
- Shift pattern includes: 7:00am - 3:00pm, 2:00pm - 10:00pm
- Working every other weekend
- Sleep-in duties required
We are excited to be recruiting Residential Child Care Practitioners to join a brand-new service supporting children and young people in Reading. You will be part of a dedicated team across three homes:
- A therapeutic home (up to 2 children, aged 11-17, SEMH)
- An assessment home (up to 4 children, aged 12-17, EBD)
- A mid/long-term home (up to 4 children, aged 12-17, EBD)
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with social, emotional and behavioural needs in a trauma-informed, person-centred environment, helping them build confidence, resilience, and life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Supporting emotional, social and behavioural development
- Acting as a key worker and contributing to care/placement plans
- Promoting safeguarding and child protection at all times
- Supporting education, activities, and daily routines
- Managing behaviours positively
