Pay Rates: £23.81 - £31.35 per hour Umbrella Rate

Information the Role: We are seeking a committed and experienced School Attendance Service Officer to lead on Elective Home Education (EHE) and Child Employment responsibilities within a busy and dynamic service. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional with strong safeguarding knowledge and experience of working with children, families, schools and multi-agency partners. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring children receive a suitable education, are safeguarded effectively, and that all child employment and performance legislation is adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on Elective Home Education casework and provide advice and guidance to schools, families and professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, admissions, inclusion services, early help, social care and Children Missing Education teams where there are concerns regarding a child's education or welfare.
  • Investigate breaches under the Education Act 1996 and take enforcement action where appropriate, including issuing Penalty Notices.
