4Recruitment Services are seeking an experienced Sexual Health Nurse Practitioner to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team based at a Health Centre in Walsall.
The Role
Working autonomously within the Reproductive Sexual Health Service, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of sexual and reproductive health services. You will provide clinical assessment, treatment, health promotion, and safeguarding support while working collaboratively with partner agencies and healthcare professionals.
You will be expected to prescribe, issue, fit and administer:
- Combined oral contraception
- Emergency contraception
- Contraceptive patches
- Subdermal contraceptive implants
- Contraceptive depot injections
- IUD/IUS for contraceptive purposes
- Condoms
- STI screening and treatment
- Pregnancy testing and referrals to abortion services
- Opportunistic cervical screening
- Referrals to partner agencies and support services
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Deliver high-quality sexual and reproductive health services within clinical and community settings.
- Support vulnerable and hard-to-reach groups through accessible, person-centred care.
- Provide health promotion, safer sex advice, and opportunistic cervical screening.
- Manage a caseload, including follow-up care and treatment for conditions such as chlamydia, recurrent genital warts, herpes, and routine contraception reviews.
- Use brief intervention techniques to engage young people and support informed decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to improve access to services and continuity of care.
- Undertake clinical procedures including venepuncture, immunisations, and medication administration under PGDs, PSDs, or as a qualified nurse prescriber.
- Identify and manage safeguarding concerns, particularly relating to under-16s and vulnerable adults, escalating appropriately in line with local policies.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Registered Nurse (NMC Registered)
- Enhanced DBS Certificate
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to transport
- Experience working within sexual health and/or reproductive health services
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied clinical caseload
