🚀 Southend Council – Salary Increases + £250 Referral Bonus!

We have some fantastic news from Southend-on-Sea City Council – permanent salaries have just increased for Social Workers and Advanced/Senior Practitioners!

Please be sure to review the details for each role below.

📈 New Salary Bands:

• Social Workers: £39,152 – £45,091
• Advanced/Senior Practitioners: £46,142 – £52,413

Important Requirements:

• Must be registered with SWE and have completed ASYE.
• No visa sponsorship available.
• Children’s Services: top salary awarded only after 6-month probation (non-negotiable).
• For agency submissions: must have 3+ years’ permanent local authority experience at some point in your career.
• Cannot have worked at Essex, Thurrock, or Basildon within the last 12 months.

• Adoption – Social Worker (adoption exp) – £39,152–£45,091
• Fostering Support – Supervising Social Worker (2 yrs fostering exp) – £39,152–£45,091
• Fostering Recruitment – Advanced Practitioner (3 yrs fostering exp) – £46,142–£52,413

Permanent – Adults’ Services

• Prevention Team – Social Worker (must drive unless local) – £39,152–£45,091
• Ageing Well – Social Worker (must drive unless local) – £39,152–£45,091

Agency – Children’s Services

• Adoption – Social Worker (must currently be an Adoption Social Worker) – £38.00/hr
• Fostering – Kinship – Advanced Practitioner (must drive & have car, 3 years’ current fostering exp) – £41.50/hr
• Fostering – Kinship – Social Worker (must drive & have car, 2 years’ current fostering exp) – £38.00/hr
