Active Travel Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced Active Travel Project Manager to support the delivery of a major active travel capital programme valued at over £9 million.
You will oversee the development and delivery of active travel and transport infrastructure schemes, working from initial project development through to construction and handover.
The role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams, commissioning technical work, managing stakeholders and ensuring projects remain on track against programme, budget and required approvals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the development and delivery of active travel and transport infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, consultants and key stakeholders.
- Commission technical, design, planning and other specialist activities.
- Support business case development, procurement and project governance.
- Manage consultation and engagement with stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, risks and delivery outcomes.
- Ensure relevant approvals, consents and CDM requirements are met.
- Support the delivery of wider transport improvement programmes where required.
This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of approximately one day per week in the office and the remainder working remotely, subject to business requirements.
We are looking for someone with strong project management experience, excellent stakeholder management skills and an understanding of transport, highways or active travel schemes.
Uses funding until end of 28/29 financial year.
Have set duration as 2.5 years and depending on start date, funding may enable additional days per a week to be added in final funded year
