We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Grounds Operative – Semi Skilled to help maintain parks, green spaces, verges, and recreation areas across the city. In this hands-on role, you will carry out a range of grounds maintenance duties including grass cutting, hedge and shrub care, litter removal, basic landscaping tasks, and the safe operation of equipment such as strimmers, pedestrian mowers, and leaf blowers. You will also complete routine maintenance checks on tools and machinery, keep accurate work records, and support other frontline tasks when required.
We are looking for someone with previous grounds maintenance or horticultural experience, good practical skills, a strong awareness of health and safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Essential requirements:- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B)
- Experience of grounds maintenance work to set standards and timescales
- Ability to follow work instructions, read basic maps/site plans, and complete simple written records
- Good communication skills and a positive, customer-focused approach
