Senior Planning Enforcement Officer Location: Shropshire Rate: £45 per hour Umbrella / £32.54 per hour PAYE Contract: 3-month rolling Working Arrangement: Part remote, 1 day per week in the office Office Day: Thursday We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join a Shropshire-based team. Key Responsibilities Provide lead specialist professional and technical advice to ensure building work and other development within the county complies with approved plans and conditions, regulations, codes of practice, approved standards and Council policies. Identify appropriate methods of remediation where necessary. Manage planning enforcement cases, including evaluating evidence, liaising with colleagues and external agencies, and preparing reports with recommendations for delegated decisions and appropriate action. Prepare reports and attend Committees, court hearings, public inquiries, site visits and other meetings as required, including presenting evidence. Attend and present reports to Planning Committee relating to planning enforcement cases and matters as required. Provide specialist planning enforcement advice to a range of stakeholders. Implement new operational procedures and work with colleagues and key stakeholders to drive forward change and maximise the potential of the planning enforcement service. Input data and operate Development Management and information management IT systems as appropriate. Undertake other duties appropriate to the post in connection with the provision of a comprehensive development management service. Essential Regular site visits are required.
