4Recruitment Services are seeking an experienced Visiting Officer to carry out tenancy audits and home visits to tenants living in Rugby.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Conduct tenancy audits and home visits across the Council's housing stock.
  • Verify occupancy and household details to ensure tenancy records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Identify and investigate potential tenancy breaches, including unlawful subletting, abandonment, and tenancy fraud.
  • Assess property condition and report any concerns requiring further action.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns, vulnerabilities, or support needs and make appropriate referrals.
  • Provide tenants with advice and information regarding their tenancy and available support services.
  • Liaise with Housing Management, Revenues, Repairs, and other Council departments to resolve issues identified during visits.
  • Maintain accurate records and update housing management systems following visits.
  • Prepare reports and provide evidence where tenancy enforcement action may be required.
  • Support the Council in achieving service objectives, performance targets, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work independently, managing a programme of visits and follow-up actions effectively.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Experience of working in housing, tenancy management, customer services, community services, or a similar public sector environment.
  • Experience of conducting visits, inspections, audits, investigations, or face-to-face customer engagement.
  • Knowledge of tenancy management principles and an understanding of social housing issues.
  • Ability to identify tenancy breaches, safeguarding concerns, vulnerability issues, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use (or ability to travel efficiently throughout the Borough).
  • Enhanced DBS check.
