We are seeking an experienced Logistics Team Leader to join a busy operational team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing drivers, coordinating workloads, and ensuring delivery and collection services are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed service levels. You will oversee daily operations, monitor team performance, respond to customer enquiries, and drive continuous improvement across the service.
The successful candidate will have previous experience leading logistics, transport or fleet operations teams, with strong knowledge of vehicle compliance, servicing schedules, MOT requirements, insurance claims, driver performance and transport-related regulations. You will be highly organised, confident managing competing priorities, and capable of making effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, motivate and manage a team of drivers
- Plan and allocate daily workloads to meet operational targets
- Monitor service performance and KPI delivery
- Ensure vehicle compliance, servicing and MOT schedules are maintained
- Support investigations relating to vehicle incidents, insurance claims and driver infringements
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Identify and implement service improvements
- Previous experience in a Logistics, Transport or Fleet Team Leader role
- Strong understanding of fleet compliance, vehicle maintenance and transport operations
- Experience managing staff performance and workload allocation
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Full UK Driving Licence
