Contract PAYE: £400 per day
Hybrid working model: 3 days remote, 2 days office-based – Monday essential
Role
Responsible for leading the technical team in the planning, investigation and delivery of traffic and parking engineering measures and schemes. The postholder will be responsible for budget, contract and project management, ensuring compliance with the Council’s policies and procedures. The postholder will support the Transport and Projects Manager in organising technical staff and administering the service, while representing the service and deputising for the Manager when necessary.
Essential Experience
- Knowledge of appropriate Health and Safety, Environmental Management Systems and Construction Design and Management regulations
- Practical knowledge of traffic engineering techniques, relevant legislation, and programme and project management
- Demonstrable experience in transport planning, highways, or traffic engineering, including programme planning, budget management, and project management
- Experience in the use of and operation of CAD, GIS and imaging software
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to find innovative solutions to traffic engineering problems
- The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing circumstances while delivering complex projects
- Experienced in working with a range of stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors
- Must have a clear understanding of the diverse nature of Harrow’s communities and the implications for services delivered to residents and service users
- Inclusive team worker who can foster partnerships, work collaboratively across teams to achieve desired performance and outcomes
- Able to undertake site visits and work outside in all weather conditions
