As a truck driver in refuse collection, you will:
- Drive and operate specialised street sweeping machinery, sweeping designated road channels, footways and public areas, often removing debris, leaves or litter.
- Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job.
- Undertake all duties in a professional manner, deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal.
- Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
- Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
- Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use.
- Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
- Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users.
Your typical working hours will be: 6am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
What you will need to do the role:
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points).
- Driver CPC.
- Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Willingness to undertake tasks.
