Location: Kingston Upon Thames (KT1) – Covering 2 sites 15 minutes apart

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm

Pay: £42,000 per annum

Duration: Temp to Perm

Duties

  • The Maintenance & Service technician will be required to carry out a range of both Reactive Works and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks in accordance with the PPM schedule, including but not limited to:
  • Deliver a wide range of planned & reactive maintenance works.
  • Provide initial response to all Reactive Maintenance requests during normal working hours and Out of Hours as part of the On-call Out of Hours Rota. A company van will be provided for use to travel to and from the sites as needed (excludes personal use).
  • Quarterly shower head & hose cleaning in accordance with L8 requirements (full training will be provided).
  • Monthly temperature monitoring of Hot & Cold water systems.
  • Continuous monitoring and maintenance of mechanical systems, fittings and plantrooms.
  • Weekly flushing of water outlets in all unoccupied rooms.
  • Weekly fire alarm testing on the student accommodation.
  • Bi-annual Fire Door inspections (full training will be provided), ensuring necessary adjustments are completed / faults & damage recorded accurately.
  • Undertake regular visual inspections of building fabric, furniture, fixtures & fittings.
  • Effect repairs to building fabric, furniture, fixtures & fittings where noted / when reported.
  • Undertake minor repairs to faults reported within student bedrooms and shared kitchen facilities covering all elements of building Fabric, Fixtures & Fittings.
  • Undertake minor decorating works when needed.
  • Undertake quarterly RCD Function tests.
  • Attend to faults with domestic water supply & drainage systems / other plumbing works including but not limited to resolving blocked toilets & drains, changing taps, shower valves, etc.

Person Specification

  • Applicants will be subject to a Disclosure & Barring (DBS) check.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role essential.
  • Suitable trade discipline qualification (minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of ACOP L8 desirable.
  • Full UK Driving License.
