We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior EHC Coordinator (Deputy Area Inclusion Lead) to join our high-performing and fast-paced Post 14 Inclusion Team. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to support Area Inclusion Hub Leads (Team Managers) in delivering high-quality statutory SEND services for young people aged 14β25. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are compliant, outcome-focused and effectively support young people as they transition into further education, training, employment and adulthood. You will provide leadership, quality assurance, professional guidance and operational support across the team while promoting consistent and effective practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Area Inclusion Hub Leads in overseeing EHC needs assessments and Annual Review processes, ensuring statutory compliance and high-quality outcomes.
- Quality assure EHCPs and Annual Reviews, promoting consistency, accuracy and best practice across the Post 14 team.
- Lead and support the effective use of the SEND case management system, ensuring accurate and timely record keeping.
- Embed SEND frameworks and local processes relating to assessments, transition planning and EHCP development for young people aged 14β25.
- Offer supervisory support and expert advice to EHC Coordinators on complex cases, SEND legislation and post-16 pathways.
- Work collaboratively with families, education providers, health services and social care partners to deliver person-centred support.
- Manage a small caseload of complex cases, driving positive preparation for adulthood outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- Significant experience managing SEND statutory processes, including EHC needs assessments, Annual Reviews and transition planning.
- Strong understanding of high-quality, outcome-focused EHCPs and Preparation for Adulthood principles.
- In-depth knowledge of post-16 education, training pathways and SEND support services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice 2015 and relevant legislation for young people aged 14β25.
