Interim Compliance Manager – Housing Property Services

Location: Rotherham - South Yorkshire

Contract: 3–6 Months

Day Rate: Β£350

Reporting to: Head of Housing Property Services

We are looking to appoint an experienced Interim Compliance Manager to oversee and manage housing property compliance across our residential stock. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and the Regulator's Safety and Quality Standard, supported by a high-performing compliance team.

This is a temporary role created in response to recruitment challenges for the permanent post. It presents a significant opportunity to make a real impact within a demanding and specialised compliance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead compliance for high-risk areas including gas, electrical safety, fire safety, lifts, legionella, and asbestos
  • Ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in line with Council objectives
  • Provide assurance to tenants, the Senior Leadership Team, and Cabinet
  • Review contractor performance, enforce corrective actions, and maintain high safety standards
  • Monitor certification and work closely with engineers on compliance issues
  • Oversee on-site compliance and ensure 100% adherence to fire safety protocols

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive compliance experience within social housing (local authority or housing association)
  • Demonstrable experience managing compliance staff and reviewing officer-level work
  • Strong working knowledge of residential compliance frameworks and tenant safety requirements
  • NEBOSH qualification desirable

Work Arrangement:

Office presence required 2 days per week (flexible to 1 day if needed)
