Harrow is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Housing Officer (Enforcement) to join our team. This permanent, hybrid role offers a competitive hourly rate of £24.50-£30 and the opportunity to make a real difference in the local community. As a Housing Officer (Enforcement), you’ll be the face of Harrow, working in a customer-facing, front-line environment to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the public. Highlights of this role: Represent Harrow Council as a duly authorized Officer, educating and partnering with internal and external organizations to enhance public safety and wellbeing. Carry out enforcement functions, including inspection, enforcement, education, and advice, to enable the Council to meet its statutory obligations of environmental protection. Enjoy a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with 25-40% of your time spent in the office and 60-75% on site-based visits to premises within Harrow Council. Preferred Requirements: Carry out enforcement functions in a customer-facing, front-line environment, representing Harrow Council in often challenging circumstances. Work as part of an Enforcement team in accordance with statutory requirements and in compliance with relevant Council policies and procedures. Utilize appropriate equipment during site-based visits to premises within Harrow Council. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and work in partnership with relevant internal and external organizations. Possess a strong understanding of environmental protection and the ability to apply relevant legislation and regulations. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant experience in a similar enforcement or regulatory role, preferably within a local government or public sector environment. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations effectively.
