Housing Maintenance Officer Rate: £18.09 per hour Hours: 37 hours per week Working hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm Start date: Immediate Location: Horsham, with 2–3 days per week office-based Own vehicle: Required for occasional property visits We are seeking an experienced Housing Maintenance Officer to join their Property & Facilities team on an interim basis. The successful candidate will support the Property & Facilities Manager with the delivery of repairs and maintenance across approximately 60 residential properties used for temporary accommodation, affordable accommodation and resettlement accommodation. Key Responsibilities Support the Property & Facilities Manager with the delivery of repairs and maintenance, ensuring works are completed on time and to a high standard. Monitor and supervise contractors undertaking repairs and maintenance, ensuring works meet required safety, certification and quality standards. Check completed works before invoices are approved, ensuring costs are in line with agreed budgets. Provide advice and guidance on matters such as property alterations and rechargeable repairs in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with Housing and other Council departments to improve performance and deliver a consistent service. Carry out inspections of vacant properties to meet the requirements of the Council's insurers. Prepare schedules of work for larger repair projects.
