Working Pattern: Minimum 3 days per week onsite
About the Role
You will provide high-quality committee, member and executive support, helping to ensure meetings are effectively managed and conducted in accordance with the Constitution, relevant legislation and corporate standards. The role will involve supporting committees, partnerships and internal working groups, including agenda preparation, meeting attendance, constitutional guidance, minute taking, action tracking and communicating key deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an understanding of local government democratic processes, with support and direction from senior officers.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive, committees, sub-committees, partnerships and officer or councillor groups.
- Arrange, coordinate and clerk formal meetings, including preparing agendas, reports and minutes.
- Attend meetings involving councillors and represent the service as required.
- Ensure decisions, actions and meeting outcomes are accurately recorded and communicated in accordance with the Constitution.
- Coordinate appointments to Outside Bodies, including nominations, Annual reporting, outcome notifications and member contact arrangements.
- Ensure full compliance with the General Data Protection Act and all requirements relating to the secure and appropriate handling of personal information.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage challenging workloads and competing priorities.
- Excellent IT skills, including experience using report management systems and streaming/webcasting technology.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and in sometimes difficult or emotionally challenging situations while maintaining consistently high standards.
