4Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Housing Solutions Officer to join our client's busy Housing Solutions Service in Manchester. The Housing Solutions Service provides a vital role in delivering statutory responsibilities under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, working with individuals and families to prevent homelessness wherever possible and support those who require assistance to secure suitable accommodation.
As a Housing Solutions Officer, you will provide a responsive and professional housing service to customers experiencing housing difficulties. You will work directly with applicants to understand their circumstances, identify appropriate housing options, and provide advice, guidance, and practical support to help resolve their housing needs.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, working with individuals who may be experiencing complex challenges, including those at risk of homelessness, rough sleeping, or domestic abuse. You will use a strengths-based approach to assess needs, develop realistic solutions, and support customers to achieve positive outcomes.
This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills, alongside the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality housing advice, guidance, and support to residents facing housing challenges.
- Work proactively to prevent homelessness through early intervention and effective case management.
- Assess housing circumstances and determine appropriate housing options and solutions.
- Develop, review, and monitor Personal Housing Plans with applicants to achieve realistic outcomes.
- Investigate cases, gather relevant information, and make confident decisions in line with legislation and policy.
- Provide support and advice to customers who may require emergency accommodation.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies, landlords, and community organisations.
- Promote a range of housing options, including the private rented sector, as positive housing solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local housing services and support networks.
- Undertake home visits and deliver services across community locations and partner organisations when required.
- Previous experience working within housing, homelessness, tenancy management, or a related service area.
- Knowledge and understanding of homelessness legislation and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Strong assessment, investigation, and decision-making skills.
- Enhanced DBS check.
