This pivotal role will oversee key service areas including HMO Licensing and Private Sector Housing Enforcement. You will use the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and relevant legislative powers to drive improvements in the private rented sector, including House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) licensing and enforcement.

You will be responsible for driving service excellence, ensuring statutory compliance, and delivering outcomes that align with corporate priorities. Working closely with the Head of Service for Environmental Health and Licensing, you will provide strategic leadership, clear accountability, and a visible presence that promotes the service proactively to local residents.

Ideally, you will be able to support with the set up and implementation of discretionary licensing and support the manager and staff in this process.
