We are looking for a reliable, practical and community-focused Neighbourhood Warden to join its Housing Management team. The role provides a visible and accessible presence within local neighbourhoods, helping to maintain safe, clean and well-managed communities while supporting residents and working with council teams, contractors and external agencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out regular neighbourhood, health and safety and compliance checks.
  • Reporting and escalating hazards, defects, repairs, nuisance and environmental issues.
  • Helping maintain communal areas, blocks and neighbourhoods to a high standard.
  • Removing litter, dealing with minor graffiti and supporting bulky waste and fly-tipping responses.
  • Carrying out minor repairs within your level of competence.
  • Supporting the upkeep of empty properties and following up outstanding repairs.
  • Working closely with residents, tenant groups, community organisations and partner agencies.
  • Supporting community safety, environmental improvements and local projects.
  • Communicating effectively with residents, including older and vulnerable tenants.
  • Delivering letters and newsletters, maintaining notice boards and attending meetings when required.
  • Supporting accompanied viewings, decoration pack deliveries and fire safety information.
  • Maintaining accurate records, completing reports and managing your own workload.

The successful candidate will have good communication and organisational skills, a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to work independently. You should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and carrying out physical tasks safely. Good IT skills are required. A driving licence and GCSE grades 1–3 are desirable. A standard DBS check applies.
