We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our Extra Care service at Keswick Gardens on a 6-month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in CQC-regulated Extra Care or Supported Living services who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and leading teams to achieve outstanding outcomes for customers.
As Deputy Manager, you will provide inspirational leadership and operational support to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care services. You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day management of the service, leading colleagues, maintaining compliance, and ensuring customers receive the highest standards of care and support.
The role requires a hands-on manager who is confident working within a regulated care environment and is comfortable using IT systems to maintain accurate records, including updating care plans and customer information.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the management and delivery of a high-quality Extra Care service in line with CQC standards and contractual requirements.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of care and support colleagues through supervision, performance management and ongoing coaching.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments and customer records are accurately maintained and regularly reviewed.
- Monitor service quality, compliance and customer outcomes, implementing improvements where required.
- Assist with Rota planning, recruitment, induction and workforce development.
- Support medication management processes in line with national guidelines and organisational procedures.
- Produce reports, maintain records and contribute to statutory submissions and service audits.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, safeguarding, GDPR and other regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with customers, families, health professionals and community partners to deliver person-centred support.
- Assist with housing-related responsibilities, including property management, welfare checks, repairs coordination and supporting tenancy sustainment.
- Experience working within a CQC-registered Extra Care, Supported Living or similar care environment.
- Previous experience leading or supervising teams within a care setting.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding and person-centred care principles.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience using care management systems and maintaining electronic care records.
- Experience monitoring service performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- A positive, resilient and flexible approach to leadership.
- Health & Social Care qualification (Level 3 or above) or equivalent.
- Experience managing budgets and financial processes.
- Previous responsibility for compliance monitoring, contract performance or KPI management.
