Job Purpose:
/n
/n
- Lead the assessment and determination of complex planning applications, including major residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
/n
- Prepare high-quality reports and recommendations for Planning Committee.
/n
- Provide technical advice and support to Planning Officers and Senior Planning Officers.
/n
- Interpret planning legislation, local policy and national guidance to inform robust decision-making.
/n
- Represent the Council at pre-application meetings, public consultations, site visits and Planning Committee.
/n
- Work collaboratively with developers, consultees, legal representatives and local communities.
/n
- Support the Council in planning appeals, hearings and public inquiries.
/n
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to professional development across the team.
/n
- Promote continuous improvement by helping develop efficient processes and maintaining high standards of planning practice.
/n
- Respond professionally to complex customer enquiries and complaints.
/n
