To manage the collection and recovery of debts across one or more portfolios, including Housing Benefit Overpayments, Adult Social Care, Sundry Debt, and other debt recovery portfolios managed within local government. To be accountable for the quality, effectiveness, and professionalism of service delivery. This includes implementing operational plans that align with wider service, departmental, and Council objectives, ensuring compliance with the Debt Recovery Strategy, relevant legislation, and Council policies to maximise recovery performance and minimise bad debt.

To ensure that all financial advice, decisions, and recovery actions comply with relevant legislation, statutory requirements, case law, and Council policies, safeguarding the Council’s interests by minimising financial loss and reducing the risk of legal challenge.
