Contract - 1 year initially. £18.24 per hour - approx. £35,600.00 per annum. Full time. Location: BL1 1RU - 3 months onsite for training - 2 days home-based, 3 days onsite after that.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the accurate preparation and maintenance of the Department’s budgets.
  • Undertake regular, timely and accurate monitoring of specific service areas of the Department’s Revenue Budget to enable appropriate control and review of financial performance throughout the year.
  • Provide advice to, and liaise with, a range of budget holders across the Department to ensure the best use is made of the Department’s financial resources.
  • Develop, maintain and provide, in conjunction with Senior Managers in the service area, a range of financial information for budget holders including unit costs and budget monitoring information.
  • Assist in the preparation of final accounts.
  • Prepare the Revenue Budget for specified areas of the Departments.
  • Prepare budget monitoring information for a specific area of the Department’s activity.
  • Liaise and consult with a variety of budget holders in order to agree budget allocations and monitoring information in relation to those allocations.
  • Assist in the development of relevant financial training offered by the section.

Council experience essential. Oracle experience essential.
