Are you an experienced SEND professional passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently recruiting for an Experienced EHCP Co-ordinator to join a busy and dedicated SEN team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in coordinating Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and reviews, ensuring children, young people and families receive high-quality, person-centred support.

The Role

As an Experienced EHCP Co-ordinator, you will act as the main point of contact for parents/carers and young people throughout the EHC assessment process. You will work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, social care teams and voluntary organisations to ensure timely and effective delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans. This role offers remote working with connection to the Wirral office as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate EHC needs assessments and annual reviews for children and young people aged 0–25
  • Prepare high-quality draft Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Ensure families and young people are fully involved in the assessment process
  • Work closely with education, health, social care and voluntary sector professionals
  • Facilitate meaningful annual reviews and support mediation processes
  • Support managers with SENDIST Tribunal preparation
  • Ensure statutory timescales and performance targets are consistently achieved
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and case management systems
  • Contribute to the development of SEN policies and procedures
  • Mentor and support newly recruited or less experienced EHCP Co-ordinators

Detailed knowledge of:

  • Part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014
  • SEND Code of Practice
  • SENDIST Tribunal procedures
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND
  • Experience leading multi-agency meetings
  • Experience writing person-centred plans and professional reports
  • Strong communication, organisational and negotiation skills
  • Good IT and time management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet statutory deadlines
