Are you a passionate Advice And Duty Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for an Advice And Duty Support Worker to work in Staffordshire.
Pay Rates: £14.13 - £17.59 Umbrella rate
Information about the Role: Successful candidates will be offered 37.5 hours per week for 3 months initially.
What you will be doing:
- Providing a professional response to all initial contacts made by service users or outside agencies regarding enquiries about service delivery.
- Enabling the department to effectively discriminate between enquiries that require the provision of information and those that require an assessment.
- Supporting the Team Manager in the operation of services for Staffordshire County Council's Children’s Services.
- Ensuring that a high-quality service is provided to children and their families through the effective operation of a telephone-based duty and referral service.
- Providing a professional telephone referral and signposting service as a first point of contact for all initial referrals.
- Obtaining sufficient information from members of the public and other professionals in a calm and sensitive manner to reach decisions regarding the most appropriate course of action.
- Completion of referral forms to the highest standards.
- Using and updating the Departments Client Information System and the electronic Social Care record system on a daily basis.
- Ensuring appropriate checks are undertaken regarding historical information held before a decision is reached.
- Making decisions in conjunction with the Team Manager regarding the most appropriate course of action based on the Departments eligibility criteria.
- Providing appropriate and up-to-date information to assist Service Users or other professionals regarding referrals that do not meet the criteria for further assessment.
- Ensuring that referrals are received by the appropriate assessment team in a timely fashion.
- Acknowledging all contacts/referrals received by the Service in writing within 24 hours.
Specialist knowledge, skills and experience:
- A practical understanding of the use of performance management.
- An ability to interpret accurately, input and retrieve data using the software provided.
- Experience of working with internal/external customers to provide a quality service.
- Experience of office procedures, systems and equipment.
- Experience of working within a Team, preferably in an office environment.
- Experience in using computer-based information systems.
- Commitment to excellent customer service and the achievement of high-quality service.
- Flexible approach – demonstrating the ability to respond positively to changes in allocation of work at short notice and the ability to take a lead.
Desirable skills:
- Good interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues.
- Time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
- Full UK licence.
