The Accommodation Needs Assessment Officer is responsible for carrying out specialist assessments relating to temporary accommodation housing needs for households accommodated under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996.
The postholder will:
- Conduct detailed accommodation suitability assessments for households in temporary accommodation.
- Work with Legal Services, in consultation with the Reviews & Service Improvement Manager, in response to legal challenges and statutory reviews.
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused housing advice and homelessness prevention service.
- Support customers in exploring all available housing options across both public and private sectors to prevent homelessness wherever possible.
