Licensing Officer

Location: Welwyn Hatfield, Hertfordshire

Working Pattern: Hybrid – office-based 2-3 days per week

Contract: 12 weeks

Hours: 37 hours per week

Rate: £27.14 - £28.29 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Licensing Officer to join the Public Realm team.

Key Requirements

• Relevant Licensing qualification.
• Strong knowledge of licensing law, guidance, policies and procedures, particularly Taxi Licensing and the Licensing Act.
• Thorough understanding of legislation, guidance and legal processes relating to environmental protection within a Local Authority setting.
• Knowledge of how Licensing interacts with other Local Authority services.
• Good understanding of enforcement procedures, legislation and guidance, including PACE.
• Excellent record-keeping and administrative skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.

Additional Requirements

• Full UK driving licence.
• Access to a vehicle for work purposes.
• Willingness to occasionally drive Council vehicles, including vans.
• Ability to travel independently to residents, businesses and other locations as required.

Working Arrangements

The role is based in Welwyn Hatfield, Hertfordshire, with hybrid working of approximately 2-3 days per week in the office. Training will be office-based, with exact arrangements confirmed by the manager.
