We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive SEN Hub team in a school based in Felixstowe, Suffolk. As part of a close-knit team, you will be working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who require additional support. This rewarding role offers the chance to provide tailored assistance both one to one and in groups, helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment Responsibilities for SEN LSA: * Provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal child with profound ASD, ensuring their individual needs are met throughout the school day. * Implement sensory stimulation activities that are tailored to the child’s needs, helping them to engage with their environment and learning. * Assist with the use of alternative communication methods, such as PECS, Makaton, or other communication aids. * Help maintain a structured and calm learning environment to support the child’s emotional and sensory regulation. * Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and external specialists to follow and implement the child’s education, health, and care plan (EHCP). * Support the child with personal care needs, if required. * Monitor the child’s progress, maintaining detailed records, and providing feedback to the SENCO and parents. * Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child to support their social and emotional development.
